Open day at McQuoin Park
McQuoin Park welcomed visitors to our state-of-the-art senior’s hub in Wahroonga, which features a newly opened Wellness Centre, a Retirement Village and a Residential Aged Care Home. This was a great opportunity for seniors to learn about holistic services and care available to support their health and wellbeing.
The day began with a session in the Wellness Centre with Erin Stubbs, our Allied Health Specialist. Erin presented about the range of exercise programs and activities available – getting everyone up to participate. Geralyn Ong, Care Advisor for Home Care Northern Sydney then presented on the services and support people can access with a Home Care Package or the Commonwealth Home Support Programme.
Visitors took a stroll up to the Retirement Village for coffee and a delicious selection of sweet and savory treats. Carolyn Farbrother, our Sales and Events Manager chatted to the group on everything retirement living has to offer including introducing them to current Village residents. This was followed by a tour of the spectacular village which includes a 42-seat cinema, an indoor heated pool, a gym and a clubhouse, which has full commercial kitchen and bar facilities. Visitors were also given a tour of a styled apartment.
Those who were interested then headed down to the Residential Aged Care home for a tour.
Visitor, Younh Kim, commented saying “Thank you for a lovely morning. The facilities and the people have been wonderful. The most important thing is that the people that work here are nice people.”
